The Quality Assurance Unit is responsible for maintaining the Forensic Services Group's accreditation. The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board ( ASCLD/LAB) accredited the Forensic Services System in February 2009.
The Quality Assurance Unit provides support and training to all professional staff through continuous site visitations, evaluation of professional readiness, and proficiency testing.
The Quality Assurance Unit is also responsible for ensuring that the highest quality forensic services are provided to our clients. Through the pursuit of quality forensic science, continuous assessment of work performed, problem identification, and corrective action procedures, the Quality Assurance Unit ensures all forensic services adhere to ASCLD/LAB standards.
The Unit is currently planning for transition to more stringent standards through the International Standards Organization (ISO).
