It is a full academy, consisting of Basic Recruit training and Reserve Intermittent courses, with weekly in-service classes running from September through June each year for veteran police officers. This academy also hosts specialized courses and Highway Safety programs. Officers attend training at this site from approximately 45 North Shore communities. The academy is situated on the site of the National Guard's Camp Curtis in a shared facility and is easily accessible off Route 95.
The Reading Regional Police Academy has two classrooms, with 40 seats in one and 50 seats in the other.
