Directions to MPTC Western Mass
The Western Mass Police Academy opened in 1984 in Agawam and serves the four counties of Western Massachusetts. In 2005 the academy moved from that site to the Springfield Technical Community College. The academy staff works closely with the Western Mass Chiefs of Police Association. Regular business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is a full academy consisting of Basic Recruit training and Reserve Intermittent courses, with weekly In-Service classes running from September through June each year for veteran police officers.
