The Reserve/Intermittent Recruit Officer Course consists of 345.5 hours. The classes will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 4pm-10pm.
Training Location: Classes will be held at the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department located at 467 Cheshire Road in Pittsfield.
Days/Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 4:30PM-10:30PM
Sponsorship: In order for you to attend an Academy you must be sponsored by a Chief of Police in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. You must obtain this sponsorship yourself, and it does not guarantee employment with that or any other agency.
Health Insurance: You will be required to have health insurance to participate. It will be the responsibility of the sponsoring chief to verify insurance coverage as verified in the MPTC application.
Firearms: The Firearms and ammunition are to be provided by the sponsoring department.
Attire: B.L.E.C. Reserve Academy Required Uniforms
Tuition: $1,500.00 in the form of a town check, bank check or money order (No personal checks please)

The Berkshire Law Enforcement Council has voted to not run a reserve academy for the remainder of 2016 nor 2017. The Council will consider running a February 2018 academy in the fall of 2017.
