Station D-3, SP North Dartmouth

North Dartmouth is primarily responsible for patrolling 31 miles of Route 195 from Mattapoisett to the Rhode Island state line, 12 miles of Route 24 from Freetown to the Rhode Island state line, 12 miles of Route 140 from Freetown to New Bedford and 4 miles of Route 79 in Fall River. This barracks also provides 49 miles of secondary patrol coverage of Routes 88, 117 and 6.

The North Dartmouth barracks patrol area includes Fall River, which is home to Battleship Cove, a popular tourist destination featuring the U.S.S. Massachusetts and other naval exhibits.

Historical Information:

The old North Dartmouth barracks was previously located at 262 State Road, North Dartmouth, MA 02747. In 2006, a new, state-of-the-art police facility was built to replace the aging D-3 barracks.
