SPRINGFIELD - Thursday, June 3, 2010 - In keeping with the Patrick-Murray Administration's commitment to supporting the law enforcement community, Governor Deval Patrick, along with Public Safety Secretary Mary Beth Heffernan, today celebrated the opening of the new Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) Western Regional Academy in Springfield. This building is the first MPTC facility designed specifically for police training and serves as the new home to MPTC training programs for police recruits and veteran officers from 107 communities throughout the state's western region.
