Lynn Man Pleads Not Guilty To Rape And Kidnapping Charges
Richard Felton, 21, of 11 West Green Street, Lynn, pleaded not guilty today in Lynn District Court to charges of aggravated rape and kidnapping. He is also charged with attempting to commit a crime (unarmed robbery), assault and battery, indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, and threatening to commit a crime (bodily injury).
The alleged offenses occurred yesterday just after 8 a.m. at a residence in Lynn. Felton was arrested by Lynn police shortly after 9 a.m. in the area where the crimes allegedly took place. The alleged victim is an adult female, but no further information about her is being released.
At the request of Essex Assistant District Attorney Meghan Taylor, Judge Albert Conlon ordered the defendant held without bail and continued the case until Thursday, February 15, for a dangerousness hearing.
Felton was represented at arraignment by Julie Buszuwski from the Committee for Public Counsel Services.
