Lynn Man Under Arrest For Allegedly Murdering Mother Of His Children

Patrick Waweru, 28, of 4 Kingsley Terrace, Lynn, is expected to be arraigned tomorrow in Lynn District Court, when his medical condition allows, for allegedly killing the mother of his two children last night. After allegedly committing the crime, Waweru overdosed on an unknown quantity of pills. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Lynn Union Hospital.

He was placed under arrest late this afternoon at the hospital.

At about 10:20 last night Lynn Police units responded to a 911 call at 130 Adams Street. There, they found the victim, Esther Kinyanjui, 31, who was living in Delaware, bleeding from stab wounds. She was transported to North Shore Medical Center in Salem where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Also suffering injuries in the attack was Margaret Kinyanjui, 27, the sister of the murder victim. She was treated at North Shore Medical Center in Salem and released.

The case is being investigated by Detectives from the Lynn Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, along with Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Office of Essex District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett.

Further details are expected at tomorrow's arraignment.
