Chiropractors Plead Guilty In Lawrence Insurance Fraud Case
Judge David A. Lowy sentenced all three men to serve two years in the House of Correction, 90 days to be served, with the balance suspended for two years. As part of their two years probation, they are required to perform 500 hours of community service.
Essex Assistant District Attorney James Gubitose told the court that if the case had gone to trial, the Commonwealth would have proved that between January and September of 2003, the defendants participated in a scheme to defraud insurance companies by staging motor vehicle accidents. Gubitose asked for all 3 men to be sentenced to 3 years committed in the State Prison.
The charges were brought as the result of a joint investigation by the Essex District Attorney's Office, the Lawrence Police Department, and the Insurance Fraud Bureau
