Body Of Homeless Man Found In River

A body which police believe to be that of a 46 year-old homeless man from Lynn, was found this morning at about 11:15 in the Saugus River in Lynn, near the commuter rail bridge. His body was discovered by two people fishing in a boat on the river.

There are no obvious signs of trauma to the body.

An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Boston. Police believe they know who the gentleman is, but will await a positive identification by the Medical Examiner.

The case is under investigation by Lynn Police and State Police assigned to the Office of Essex District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett.
