Priest Admits to Sufficent Facts in Church Fund Theft
Former Haverhill priest Keith LeBlanc admitted to sufficient facts today in Haverhill District Court to a charge of larceny over $250.
Judge Stephen Abany continued his case without a finding for three years, placed him on probation and ordered LeBlanc to perform 40 hours of community service each year. He also ordered LeBlanc to continue to receive counseling. LeBlanc stole about $83,000 from the church, but restitution was not an issue because the loss was covered by insurance.
Essex Assistant District Attorney Ashlee Dole had sought a guilty finding with the conditions imposed by the judge, while Defense Attorney William Sullivan asked the court to continue the case without a finding.
