Second Man Arraigned in Lynn Home Invasaion
A Lynn man who allegedly fired on police during a home invasion last Thursday night and was shot by return fire, pleaded not guilty to armed home invasion at his arraignment this afternoon in his room at Salem Hospital.
Judge Ellen Flatley ordered Sokhannara Chea, 22, of 14 Ashton Terrace, held on $100,000 cash bail, and revoked his bail on two open cases. She continued his case until July 7 for a probable cause hearing.
Essex Assistant District Attorney Geoffrey Wood, who asked that bail be set in the amount of $1 million, represented the Commonwealth at arraignment today, and Chea was represented by Attorney William O’Hare.
A second defendant, Buthchhay Chourb, 22, of 8 Minot Street, Lynn, was arraigned last Friday in Lynn District Court. He was also held on $100,000 cash bail and returns to court on July 7 for a probable cause hearing.
The third defendant, Randell McClain, 29, of 9 South Elm Street, Lynn, was scheduled to be arraigned last Friday in his hospital room at Massachusetts General Hospital. However, when he indicated to his attorney that he didn’t understand what was going on, the arraignment was continued until Friday, June 17.
