Lynn Man Indicted on Murder Charges
An Essex County Grand Jury indicted Joseph Wright, 23, of 94 Sheridan Street, Lynn today on two counts of first degree murder.
Mr. Wright is accused of killing his mother, Donna Breau, 54 and grandmother, Melba Trahant, 83 on April 30, 2012 in their Sheridan Street home and dumping their bodies behind the Lynnhurst Elementary School in Saugus. The bodies were discovered the next morning by a school janitor.
After attempting to cross the Canadian border, Mr. Wright was returned to Massachusetts where he was arraigned in Lynn District Court on May 3, 2012. Judge James Lamothe ordered him held without bail.
An arraignment date in Salem Superior Court has not been scheduled.
Essex Assistant District Attorney Michael Patten is assigned to this case.
A conviction for murder in the first degree carries a mandatory life sentence. The charges against Mr. Wright are allegations and he enjoys the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
