Methuen DPW Worker Arraigned on Drug Charges
Daniel Pomerleau, 29, a Methuen Department of Public Works employee, was arraigned this afternoon in Lawrence District Court on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B and Distribution of Class B. Judge James E. Barretto released him on personal recognizance and imposed the following pre-trial probation conditions: report to Probation as ordered, complete a drug evaluation and follow recommended treatment, remain drug and alcohol free and submit to random drug and alcohol screens.
Essex Assistant District Attorney Beth McCarthy recommended $5,000 cash bail. McCarthy stated that the defendant allegedly sold two 30 milligram oxycodone pills to an undercover Massachusetts State Trooper.
The defendant, who is represented by Attorney Tom Torrisi, is due back in court on August 8, 2012 for a pre-trial conference. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
