Three Indicted for Haverhill Murders

An Essex County Grand Jury today indicted three people for murder and other charges in connection with the July 23rd shooting deaths of William Melchionda and Anddy Guzman at 631 River Street in Haverhill.

Juan Carlos Sanchez, 20, of 23 Chestnut Street, Haverhill, Joshua Cloutman, 20, and Angela Walsh, 21 of 631 River Street, Haverhill were each indicted on two counts of Murder, Home Invasion, Armed Robbery, and Armed Burglary, Assault on Occupant.  Sanchez was also indicted on 2 counts of Armed Assault with Intent to Murder.

Sanchez was arrested on July 29, 2012 and has been held without bail since.  The indictments move his case from District Court to Superior Court.  Cloutman and Walsh were arrested on August 6, 2012 on Accessory Before the Fact and Witness Intimidation charges.  Judge Michael Uhlarik ordered them held on $20,000 cash bail and they are still in custody.  They are expected to be arraigned on the new charges in Salem Superior Court in a few weeks.

Essex Assistant District Attorney Melissa Woodard is prosecuting the case.  Attorneys Ron Ranta, John Morris and Joseph Gannon are currently representing Sanchez, Cloutman and Walsh respectively.

Indictments are charges and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
