Essex DA Staff to Wear Black in Solidarity with Kaufman County Prosecutors

Essex District Attorney’s Office staff members are joining a national show of solidarity with the prosecutors of Kaufman County, Texas following the murder of their District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia earlier this week.  Through the National District Attorney’s Association, all prosecutors across the nation have been invited to wear a black ribbon to show support for their colleagues in Texas.

“It is a very small gesture but it reflects our deep sympathy for the family, friends and colleagues of D.A. McLelland, his wife Cynthia, and Assistant District Attorney Hasse, who was murdered in January,” District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said.  “Our hearts go out to the prosecutors and staff members at the Kaufman County DA’s Office, who continue to seek justice on behalf of the people they serve.”
