Motorcycle Club Member Arraigned in Middleton Shooting

Michael MacMullen, 24, of Middleton, was arraigned in his hospital bed at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington this afternoon.  He is charged with Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault to Murder and Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Dwelling.

MacMullen allegedly shot his fellow Red Devil motorcycle club member Kevin Wolff, 28, twice in the torso on Sunday morning following a dispute.  The victim shot back, striking the defendant in the arm.

Essex Assistant District Attorney Patrick Collins requested $100,000 bail and that MacMullen be ordered to 24-hour home confinement at his parents’ home with a GPS monitoring bracelet, remain drug and alcohol free and submit to random screens, surrender all firearms to the Middleton Police, stay away from and have no contact with the victim and have no contact with any member of a motorcycle club, including the Red Devils.  Judge Robert Brennan set bail at $10,000 and imposed the requested conditions.

MacMullen is presumed innocent until proven guilty.  He is represented by Attorney Jonathan Sales and is due back in court on October 18, 2013 for a probable cause hearing.
