Requirements for Employment
The Essex County Sheriff's Department requires all applicants to:
- Minimum 21 years old
- U.S. Citizen
- Associates Degree or 60 credits towards a Bachelor's Degree AND/OR
- Two years Military Experience (Must be in good standing with military)
- Valid Driver's License
