Our Clients

The Massachusetts Export Centers client base ranges from small, new-to-export manufacturers to larger exporters seeking to expand their international presence. In the past 10 years, awareness of export opportunities has grown dramatically among the states small businesses. As a result, today, most of the Export Centers client base consists of existing exporters. 

On average, the Massachusetts Export Center provides general export development assistance to over 2,000 companies per year, of which about 200 are assisted on an in-depth level. The Export Center provides over 3,000 hours of direct assistance per year to these in-depth client cases.

Western Massachusetts

  • Helped a manufacturer of major industrial metal fabrications to research potential international markets. Also helped the company to contact potential customers in Canada. The company has since sent two pieces of equipment to Canada with plans for future sales.

  • Helped a manufacturer of craft plastics to prepare for and exhibit at a major European trade show. Helped the company to follow up on leads generated at the show, resulting in export sales in Europe amounting to seven percent of the companys total sales.

  • Provided export counseling and market information to a manufacturer of medical anatomical models. Guided the company through the entire export process and linked the company with overseas customers, resulting in export sales to Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

  • Helped a manufacturer of wheelchairs for pets to begin and expand export operations. Identified potential buyers in Canada and assisted with export sales development, trade logistics and distributor relations. As a result, the company has established and grown export sales to Canada.

Central Massachusetts

  • Provided in-house training to staff members at an electronic products manufacturer in the areas of product classification, export compliance and export documentation requirements.

  • Identified contacts in Europe for a manufacturer of golf equipment. Helped the company to follow up with potential buyers. 

  • Assisted a manufacturer of office furniture and systems to develop an international sales strategy, streamline international payment collection process and select a freight forwarder. As a result, the company successfully shipped product to the UK.

  • Helped a manufacturer of fire safety products to streamline processing for international letters of credit.

  • Worked with a manufacturer of medical devices to identify target markets and promotional opportunities. Facilitated the companys participation in a major European trade show. 

  • Researched and provided information on competitor prices in Japan to a manufacturer of machine tools. Worked with the company to develop a strategy for entering the Japanese market.

Southeastern Massachusetts

  • Prepared a feasibility study of the Chinese market for a ship builder. Also identified several potential customers and partners in China.

  • Identified and interviewed potential customers in Israel for a distributor of titanium, resulting in several new Israeli accounts for the company. 

  • Provided customized market research and export counseling to a manufacturer of disposable industrial tools for specialized metal industries. Helped the company to restructure its channels of distribution in response to changing needs in overseas markets. 

  • Provided technical assistance which enabled an art gallery to ship original works of art to the Azores.

  • Provided updated market information and counseling to help a seafood processing company prepare for a trade show in Europe.

  • Counseled a manufacturer of medical diagnostics on U.S. export regulatory issues, ensuring that the firms export operations are in full compliance.

  • Interviewed and qualified several potential distributors in Asia and Germany for a manufacturer of coatings.

Northeastern Massachusetts

  • Provided information on the Japanese surgical equipment market for a manufacturer of surgical instrumentation. Also provided listings of distributors, enabling the firm to appoint a new distributor in Japan. 

  • Provided training and technical assistance to a manufacturer and exporter of film editing systems. Provided guidance on developing an Export Management System and worked with the company to ensure that its U.S. and overseas manufacturing facilities were in full compliance with U.S. export regulations. 

  • Helped a developer and experienced exporter of data analysis software to reach new export markets. Completed comprehensive vertical market research in Europe and Africa. Also identified several potential distributors in these markets and helped the company to follow up on these leads.

Metro Boston

  • Provided export market information to a developer of computer software and hardware for Storage Area Networks. Researched and compiled listings of computer resellers and distributors in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and South Korea for the company. Helped the company to follow up on these leads, which resulted in export sales.

  • Developed a comprehensive global market study for a distiller of wines. This study enabled the company to target overseas markets with the best potential for its products. Also provided specific contact information on potential distributors in key export markets. 

  • Counseled a builder of law enforcement boats on international payment issues, enabling the firm to negotiate a successful sale to Africa with potential for future sales.
