Program Descriptions

The Power of Telling a Great Story

As active members of our community, Harvard Innovation Lab is delighted in invite you to this year’s HUBweek event, The Power of Telling a Great Story,” featuring Kara Miller, the host and creator of WGBH Radio’s nationally-syndicated Innovation Hub. It’s going to be a fascinating evening, so please share this information with your networks as well.

The annual city-wide HUBweek celebration explores the future being built here in Boston at the intersections of art, science, and technology. Every year, the Harvard Innovation Labs collaborates with HUBweek to offer the greater Boston community a rare insider’s view of our ecosystem of innovation. This year, the event will take place on October 11.

Kara Miller knows what makes a great business story, with insights gleaned from scores of interviews with some of today’s most innovative and creative thinkers. In the radio world, great tales are called “driveway moments” — stories so good you stay in your car in your driveway just to hear the ending.  The event will also feature a mini Story Slam with group of select Harvard i-lab Venture Incubation Program (VIP) teams sharing their own remarkable stories of discovery and inspiration.

After exploring storytelling, we’ll be showcasing of our latest Harvard Innovation Labs venture teams, demonstrating what their innovative and groundbreaking companies are up to.

Oh, and did we mention there’ll be free ice cream? We’ll also be holding our annual community ice cream social in conjunction with the event, with free Ben & Jerry’s for all.
