Program Descriptions 

U.S. Trade with Canada Seminar

CONECT and the Canadian Consulate of NE will co-sponsor a seminar on the "U.S. Trade with Canada," featuring speakers from Burton Snowboards, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters/Keurig, Dentons Canada and A.N. Deringer.

Learn from the Consul General about the "Beyond the Border Action Plan" and hear from both U.S and Canadian Customs, trade attorneys and expert practitioners on the best ways to import from and export to our "Neighbors to the North".

Northeast Cargo Symposium

CONECT hosts a full-day international trade symposium featuring four panels of experts on compliance and shipping issues, keynote luncheon, networking reception and optional stadium tour.

Panels & Speakers:

  • Kevin K. McAleenan, Acting Deputy Commissioner of US Customs & Border Protection will present the keynote address, updating attendees on CBP's latest agenda & initiatives.
  • George Rudy, Supervisor of U.S. Customs & Border Protection, C-TPAT will discuss CTPAT for exports and the Safety Act.
  • A panel of cargo experts will cover "Ocean Freight: Are the Mega Alliances Finally Established? How the new carrier dynamics will affect service, rates and port operations".
  • Two panels of Customs experts will review C-TPAT (for Imports and Exports), as well as the "One Government at the Border" program.
  • Top officials from three U.S. Cargo Ports (NY/NJ, Boston and LA) will offer insight into crucial "Port Issues: Chassis, Labor, Weather, and Dredging - What to Expect in 2015."
