Mass Export Center | Accomplishments and Impact

The Massachusetts Export Center, part of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network, is the state's leading provider of export development services. The Export Center is widely recognized by the local international business community as an important resource for Massachusetts businesses.

For example, in 2008, the Massachusetts Export Center received two national awards. In May, the Export Center received the Presidential E Award for excellence in exporting. In April, the Export Center received the U.S. Small Business Administrations Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Service Center Excellence and Innovation Award. In 2002, Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) bestowed the Massachusetts Export Center with its highest international award -- the Global Leadership Award. Past winners have included the Gillette Company, Bose Corporation, BankBoston and the Raytheon Company. The Massachusetts Export Center is the only government organization to ever receive this award.

Overall, companies assisted by the Export Center generated well over $1.5 billion
in export sales in 2008!
Between 2007 and 2008, Export Center clients increased their export sales by 39%. This is more than triple the growth rate of 11.6% for Massachusetts export performance during the same time period.
98% of clients found the services of the Massachusetts Export Center to be beneficial and 68% indicated that the Export Centers services exceeded their expectations.
88% of clients surveyed credit the Massachusetts Export Center with helping them to achieve specific export sales.
