 Volunteer Internship
The Massachusetts
Export Center is looking for volunteer interns
to work a minimum of 16 hours per week
Dear
Prospective Intern,
The Massachusetts Export Center is a government agency that helps
Massachusetts businesses to export their products and services
internationally. We operate through a statewide network of offices and
employ a small team of international trade professionals. Though we are
small in number, we are extremely effective in providing a variety of
export related services to companies throughout the Commonwealth.
Because of our small staff, much of what we do is made possible through
the efforts of our interns. Moreover, because we are a small office,
our interns have the ability to work on a variety of projects to which
they would not necessarily have exposure in a larger organization. The
responsibilities of an intern may include a variety of tasks, ranging
from data entry to work on high-level client research. Each project is
geared to special capabilities that the intern may have, such as foreign
language skills or computer skills. When possible, we provide interns
with the opportunity to work on real-world cases, helping clients to
develop new markets overseas.
If
you have initiative, are flexible, have an interest in international
business and consider yourself a team player, please forward your resume
and cover letter to us. Please specify the office location where you
would like to work (Boston, Holyoke or Worcester).
We
look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
The Massachusetts Export Center Team

internship:

"I would recommend the internship to anyone
looking for first-hand exposure to the developing international
marketplace. During my internship, I was given the opportunity
to complete three market research projects for companies
expanding to Latin America and Europe.
The Export Center is also an excellent source of information -
as a young professional currently working in the global shipping
& logistics industry, I remain in contact and still find the
Export Center to be a valuable resource."

"I had an incredible time during my
internship. It was such a
wonderful opportunity because I was given a lot of
responsibility as an intern and I was able to learn so much.
The work environment is very friendly and helpful -
asking questions was encouraged and I became close to both my
superiors and the other interns."

"The internship program
at the MA Export
Center
gave me hands-on experience in the fields of international
trade, marketing, and finance. As a direct result of this
experience, I was able to secure a position with the
U.S.
Department of Commerce. I would recommend an internship at the Massachusetts Export Center
to anyone interested in pursuing a career in international
business."
