GOVERNOR PATRICK ANNOUNCES NOMINATION OF TAUNTON DISTRICT COURT CLERK-MAGISTRATE
BOSTON - Wednesday, June 22, 2011 - Governor Deval Patrick today announced the nomination of experienced Taunton attorney Claudia M. Abreau as clerk-magistrate of the Taunton District Court.
"Claudia Abreau's many years of experience as an assistant clerk-magistrate and civil litigator make her an ideal choice for this position," said Governor Patrick. "Claudia is committed to the fair administration of justice and I am proud to nominate her to serve in this important and challenging role."
Abreau has served as an assistant clerk-magistrate in the Taunton District Court since 1999. From 1989 to 1999, she practiced law as a civil litigator in New Bedford and Fall River. Abreau is a lifelong resident of Taunton and a frequent volunteer in school and community activities. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (B.A., 1984) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D., 1989). Abreau is slated to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Raymond S. Peck.
