A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Charles D. Baker

Whereas Massachusetts manufacturers are world-class companies that distribute innovative products globally and are an essential part of the state’s economy; and

Whereas Up to 100,000 new workers will be needed over the next 10 years to fill ground-breaking jobs in the Massachusetts manufacturing industry; and

Whereas The Commonwealth recognizes the contributions of manufacturers and makers of all ages, from participants in youth maker-fairs, to members of maker spaces and founders of start-ups, to large-scale manufacturers, as vital to the future of Massachusetts; and

Whereas Manufacturing is important not only as an economic driver of our state, but also as a key generator of innovation, product development and employment potential;

Now, Therefore, I, Charles D. Baker, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim October 2015, to be,


And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.

Given at the Executive Chamber in Boston, this Nineteenth Day of August, in the year two thousand and fifteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the two hundred and thirty-ninth.
