A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick
Whereas German Americans continue to be a vital part of the Commonwealth’s rich diversity by contributing significantly to all aspects of daily life, including education, medicine, commerce, agriculture, public service and technology; and
Whereas The Federal Republic of Germany has been a consistent friend and ally of the United States; and
Whereas The close ties of trade and commerce that have developed between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Commonwealth promise an expanded and strengthened relationship as we continue through the 21st century; and
Whereas It is appropriate that all residents recognize German Americans for their many contributions to the cities and towns across our Commonwealth,
Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim October 6th, 2011 to be,
