Commonwealth of Massachusetts
A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick

Whereas Welding is a professional occupation that requires considerable training and specialized study; and

Whereas The application of that training and study is critical and calls for a steady supply of operators, designers, inspectors, engineers, teachers, and scientists from our schools; and

Their membership is composed of people from diverse industries, including universities and colleges, business, and students from technical institutes and regional vocational schools; and

Whereas We recognize the welders throughout our state for their contributions to our economy,

Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim April 2012, to be,
