A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick
Whereas Occupational Health Nurses specialize in the health, safety, and wellness of employees working in industry, government, higher education and healthcare, aiming to provide the best care possible for injured or ill employees; and
Whereas Occupational Health Nurses serve in settings ranging from traditional on-site medical clinics to free-standing occupational health centers to field medical stations; and
Whereas Employees rely on the commitment, knowledge and expertise of registered Occupational Health Nurses who uphold a long tradition of improving workplace health and safety for employees throughout the Commonwealth; and
Whereas For more than 100 years, Occupational Health Nurses have made a valuable contribution to safety in workplace environments, the health of the individual worker, and at times, extended family members and retirees; and
Whereas It is appropriate that the residents of the Commonwealth recognize the valuable service of Occupational Health Nurses,
Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim April 8th- April 14th, 2012 to be
Occupational Health Nurses' Week
And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.
