A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick
Whereas Internal auditors help their organization meet their objectives by monitoring risks and ensuring controls in place are adequate to mitigate those risks; and
Whereas Internal auditors – along with the board, executive management and external auditors – are a cornerstone of corporate governance that helps their organizations comply with new legislation and regulations; and
Whereas With emphasis on accountability and efficiency, internal auditors provide insight and recommendations based on analyses and assessment of data and business processes; and
Whereas It is appropriate to recognize the many contributions internal auditors make to businesses in the Commonwealth,
Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim May 2012, to be
Internal Audit Awareness Month
And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.
