A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick
Whereas Public works infrastructure, facilities and services are of vital importance to the health, safety and well-being of the people of Massachusetts; and
Whereas Such facilities and services could not be provided without the dedicated efforts of public works professionals, engineers and administrators, representing state and local units of government; and
Whereas These professionals are responsible for and design, build, operate and maintain the transportation, water supply, sewage and refuse disposal systems, public buildings and other structures and facilities essential to serve our citizens; and
Whereas We recognize public works professionals, engineers and administrators for their contributions to the Bay State,
Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim May 20th -26th, 2012, to be,
Public Works Week
And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.
Given at the Executive Chamber in Boston, this fifteenth day of May, in the year two thousand and twelve, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the two hundred and thirty-fifth.
