A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick

Whereas Millions of veterans across the country have bravely defended our nation’s security at home and abroad; and

Whereas Our men and women in uniform put their lives at risk every day, enduring hardship, suffering injuries and making the ultimate sacrifice; and

Whereas Our Armed Forces bring to the workplace an abundance of talent and leadership ability; and

Whereas The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is committed to ensuring that for all they give to our country and Commonwealth, veterans have access to employment and training opportunities; and

Whereas Veterans who have sustained a service connected disability are experiencing the highest unemployment rates of all our veterans; and

Whereas 2012 marks the 68th Anniversary of the Local Veteran Employment Program that has touched the lives of thousands of veterans across the country, and helped secure benefits, training and employment for veterans and their families,

Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim November 2012, to be


And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.
