A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick


Whereas The town of Millbury, whose name was derived from its rich mill history, was settled in 1716 and incorporated in 1813; and

Whereas The S&D Spinning Mill, one of the oldest in nation and still operational today, is featured on the town seal; and

Whereas The residents of the Town of Millbury have contributed to industrial and recreational goods; and

Whereas The Town of Millbury has worked to improve the water quality of the Blackstone River; and 

Whereas On this day, we ask the residents of Massachusetts to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Millbury and its many contributions to the Commonwealth,

Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim June 11th, 2013 to be,


And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.

Given at the Executive Chamber in Boston, this twenty fifth day of March, in the year two thousand and thirteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the two hundred and thirty-sixth.
