A Proclamation
His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick

Whereas Case management is a multidisciplinary profession that seeks to assure the delivery of quality, appropriate, efficient and cost effective healthcare services to patients throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; and

Whereas Case management is the sole medical management strategy that fosters the careful shepherding of healthcare dollars while maintaining a primary and consistent focus on patient advocacy; and

WhereasCase managers function in a variety of practice settings including hospitals, home healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation, eldercare, managed care, and occupational health to facilitate the coordination of continuing care  services; and 

Whereas It is appropriate for the Commonwealth’s residents to recognize the  ways case managers contribute to health care delivery and help to achieve positive healthcare outcomes for patients,


Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim October 13-19th, 2013 to be,



Case Management Week 


And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.
