Commonwealth of Massachusetts A Proclamation His Excellency Governor Deval L. Patrick
WhereasSiblings Day is observed on April 10 and celebrates the bond between siblings which is forever a special gift; and
Whereas It is important that we recognize that our brothers and sisters share our earliest memories, grow and thrive with us, and help us celebrate and prosper through the highs and lows that life has to offer; and
Whereas Siblings are often our first companions, taking on the role of mentor, roll model, and friend; and
Whereas It is important that we take this day to recognize the contribution that siblings make to the betterment of our lives and the lives of others,
Now, Therefore, I, Deval L. Patrick,Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim April 10, 2013, to be,
MASSACHUSETTS SIBLINGS DAY
And urge all the citizens of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.
Given at the Executive Chamber in Boston, this third day of April, in the year two thousand and thirteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the two hundred and thirty-sixth.
