Governor Patrick Appoints William J. Trach to State Ethics Commission

Boston – Tuesday, January 3, 2012 – Governor Deval L. Patrick today announced the appointment of experienced litigator William J. “B.J.” Trach to a five-year term on the State Ethics Commission. Trach replaces outgoing Commissioner David L. Veator.
"B.J. Trach is a very bright, dedicated attorney, with extraordinary experience in both the private and public sectors," said Governor Patrick. "I am pleased to appoint him to this important position and thank him for his willingness to serve.”
Trach is a partner in the litigation department of Goodwin Procter in Boston. He focuses on white collar crime, government investigations and complex civil litigation. He served for approximately three years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, assigned to the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Unit. Trach graduated from Harvard College, B.A. cum laude in 1999 and Harvard Law School, J.D. cum laude in 2004. At Harvard Law School, he was the Articles Editor of the Harvard Law Review. After law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sandra Lynch of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Trach is a resident of West Roxbury.
