GOVERNOR PATRICK ANNOUNCES HOUSING COURT NOMINATION
BOSTON – Tuesday, December 24, 2013 – Governor Deval Patrick today announced the nomination of Fairlie A. Dalton as Associate Justice of the Housing Court, Northeast Division.
“I am very pleased to nominate Fairlie Dalton to serve on the Housing Court bench,” said Governor Patrick. “She is an extraordinary nominee who has devoted her entire legal career to housing law, both as an attorney and as a valuable member of the court administration. I thank her for her commitment to the fair administration of justice in the Housing Court and her willingness to continue to serve the public as a member of the judiciary.”
Dalton began her legal career in 1983 as an attorney in the Housing Unit of Neighborhood Legal Services, Inc. in Lynn and Lawrence, where she worked for over 22 years representing low income tenants in litigation matters. Since 2006, she has served as the First Assistant Clerk-Magistrate at the Northeast Division of the Housing Court. Dalton is a graduate of Regis College (B.A., 1972) and Harvard Law School (J.D., 1983). She resides in Melrose. If confirmed, Dalton will fill the vacancy on the Housing Court, Northeast Division created by the upcoming retirement of the Honorable David D. Kerman on January 8, 2014.
