GOVERNOR PATRICK ANNOUNCES TWO BOSTON MUNICIPAL COURT NOMINATIONS
BOSTON – Wednesday, February 5, 2014 – Governor Deval Patrick today announced two judicial nominations: Debra A. DelVecchio as Associate Justice of the Boston Municipal Court, East Boston Division and Lisa A. Grant as Associate Justice of the Boston Municipal Court, South Boston Division.
“I am honored to nominate these two experienced trial attorneys to serve on the Boston Municipal Court,” said Governor Patrick. “They will bring extraordinary expertise and energy to the bench. I thank them for their commitment to the fair administration of justice and their willingness to serve the Commonwealth as members of the judiciary.”
Debra A. DelVecchio has maintained a criminal and civil litigation practice based in Salem since 1995. Her prior legal experience includes three years as Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, three years as a Department of Justice tax attorney and four years as a litigation associate at a Boston firm. She is a graduate of Boston University (B.A. magna cum laude, 1980) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D. cum laude, 1983). DelVecchio resides in Beverly. If confirmed, she will fill the vacancy on the Boston Municipal Court created by the appointment of The Honorable Kenneth V. Desmond, Jr. to the Superior Court.
Lisa A. Grant has practiced law in Boston for 29 years, including the past 24 years as a sole practitioner in Boston. She maintains an active litigation practice with a concentration on criminal defense. Grant is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston (B.A. cum laude, 1979) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D. cum laude, 1982). She resides in Wilmington. If confirmed, Grant will fill the vacancy on the Boston Municipal Court created by the retirement of The Honorable Mary Ann Driscoll.
