Readiness Group (FRG) Mission
The primary mission of an FRG is to assist commanders in maintaining readiness
for the service members, families and communities by promoting self-sufficiency,
resiliency, and stability during peace and war time.

• Empower families to become more knowledgeable and self-reliant

Welcoming organization (for new or incoming families)

A self-help, referral organization
•
Promote more efficient use of community resources

A source of social support and group activities

Help family members develop a positive attitude toward themselves, the unit,
the deployment and the military

Unit families dedicated to achieving social and military goals
A
Family Readiness Group (FRG) is a fully sanctioned organization
comprised of military service family members and friends devoted
to enhancing the quality of life for all Guard members, their
families, and the communities in which they live.

The
Family Program Office has established three handbooks as
resources to assist units/wings with their respective FRG.
The Charter
Handbook provides information and instruction on organizing
an FRG. The Family
Readiness Group Handbook and the Treasurer’s
Handbook provide guidelines for fundraising activities and
the treasurer’s responsibilities.
