Total Army Instructor Training Cource (TAITC)

Course Description
Purpose: TAITC is an 80-hour training program designed to train and certify Army instructors in U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) standardized training instruction.
Scope: TAITC is conducted using the concept of learning by doing. Students are actively involved in all lessons and are responsible for preparing and conducting four training sessions. Students will learn to prepare learning objectives, develop lesson plans, develop training sessions, conduct after-action-reviews (AARs), conduct counseling sessions, and apply intervention techniques.
Length: 2 weeks (10 training days for a total of 80 academic hours).


Course Prerequisites
Students must be either an officer, NCO (E5 or above), and be assigned as or pending an assignment as an instructor. Additionally, military personnel must meet height and weight standards IAW AR 600-9 and must not be flagged for APFT failure.


Course Schedule
The Total Army Instructor Training Course is offered on the weekend drill schedule (January –March) and an Annual Training TAITC is offered in June of each year.
