How It Works

To get started, place a call to the Massachusetts Office of Business Development (617-973-8600)  or the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (6176-830-5400).

With foreign direct investment (FDI) a focused one-stopshopping approach is undertaken. Specialists are enlisted from state, municipal and non-profit organizations to address foreign investors' specific needs and to guide them through the process.

For export promotion, MOITI works closely and in a complementary way with its sister agency, Massachusetts Export Center, and through its offices in Mexico City, Berlin, and Shanghai.

Additionally, the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (MOITI):

  • Promotes Massachusetts exports at 5 to 6 industry-specific European trade shows per year
  • Hosts reverse trade missions having a minimum 50% buying component
  • Organizes very selective trade missions abroad with private sector trade associations or non-profits.
  • Makes available export financing for foreign receivables and working capital through MassDevelopment.

Massachusetts' FDI efforts provide a seamless approach when considering establishing an operation in Massachusetts. It enables prospects to work with one team, both within the Commonwealth and overseas.

For export promotion, MOITI enables Massachusetts companies to have a booth exhibit at a significantly reduced rate by booking trade show space in advance.

In Mexico and Europe, MOITI's foreign offices can individually connect Massachusetts exporters with specific customers.

 

Eligibility

These services are available to all Massachusetts companies currently exporting or desiring to export. Any foreign company wishing to invest in Massachusetts is eligible to contact and work with MOITI from project inception to the establishment of an operation in Massachusetts
