Kenneth R. Brown is the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of International Trade & Investment (“MOITI”), which serves as the Commonwealth’s primary international business development agency.  

As the Governor’s principal international business development advisor, he is charged with identifying and promoting export opportunities for Massachusetts goods and services, promoting the Commonwealth as a destination for foreign direct investment, and providing guidance on matters of protocol. Ken has organized and managed all of Governor Deval Patrick’s international economic development missions, including missions to China (2007), Great Britain (2011), Israel (2011), Chile (2011), and Brazil (2011).

Additionally, Ken assisted in the facilitation of the Massachusetts-Israel Innovation Partnership agreement signed by Governor Patrick in Washington, DC in June, 2011, and the Memorandum of Understanding in the Fields of Education, Energy, and Biotechnology between the Republic of Chile and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts signed by Governor Patrick in Santiago, Chile in December, 2011.

Prior to joining MOITI as Executive Director, Ken worked in the Office of Governor Deval Patrick, where he served as Governor Patrick’s Deputy Chief of Staff from 2008 to 2011, and Senior Director of Operations from 2007 to 2008. Before joining the Patrick-Murray Administration, he was an attorney in private practice. He is a graduate of The American University in Washington, DC and Boston College Law School.
