Central Massachusetts Land Use Priority Plan
The Central Massachusetts Land Use Priority Plan is a regional-level planning study created as a collaboration between the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC), the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, municipal officials, local planners, as well as various local and regional stakeholders. The Plan establishes community-based priorities for preservation and development, thereby, providing a framework for targeting public investments to areas that conserve the intrinsic qualities of the region while capitalizing on its economic strength in the state.

Merrimack Valley Regional Plan
The Merrimack Valley Regional Plan was created in conjunction with the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission, Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, MassDOT, municipal officials, regional commissioners and various local and regional stakeholders.

The Plan and Maps
The Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development (EOHED) began working with the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission (MVPC) in the spring of 2012 to expand the state’s regional planning efforts to include the 15 Merrimack Valley communities represented by MVPC. EOHED has partnered with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) to ensure that regional plans reflect a well-balanced analysis of future land use objectives for the region by also identifying appropriate areas to prioritize for preservation.

Metro North Land Use Priority Plan
The Metro North Land Use Priority Plan is a regional-level planning study created as a collaboration between the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, municipal officials, local planners, as well as various local and regional stakeholders. The Plan identifies: 1) Priority Areas for Development (PDAs) and Preservation (PPAs) at a local, regional and state level, and 2) opportunities to support the infrastructure, zoning and permitting necessary to help advance the goals of the Plan.

South Coast Rail Land Use Corridor Plan
The South Coast Rail Economic Development and Land Use Corridor Plan is a blueprint for clustering jobs and homes near transit, maximizing the economic benefits of rail investment, minimizing sprawl development, and preserving the farms, fields, and forests of the South Coast. The Corridor Plan, released in the summer of 2009, specifically identifies priority areas for protection and development, known as Priority Protection Areas (PPAs) and Priority Development Areas (PDAs).
