1. Who should take this course?

Anyone who would like to know more about the law governing local government purchasing but is not interested in obtaining MCPPO certification, anyone who would like to take an entry-level seminar before entering the MCPPO program, or by staff who want a quick review.

  1. What computer hardware and software equipment do I need?

If you have an Internet connection, the course is available through the Commonwealth's Learning Management System PACE (Performance and Career Enhancement). Or, you may complete the course at your computer using a CD. Since the course includes audio and video effects, depending on your computer system, you may need to download a plug-in. PACE and the CD program will run on Microsoft and Mac computers.

  1. How much does the course cost?

Through PACE, there is no fee. To cover handling costs of preparing and mailing the CD, there is a fee of $15.00.

  1. How do I register?

Complete the registration form doc format of Bidding Basics Online Registration
and submit it to our office. If you plan on using PACE, the office will email you your login and password information. If you plan on using the CD, the office will mail you the CD and instructions.

  1. Are any certification credits being offered for the course?

The course is an introductory course and there are no credits being offered toward MCPPO certification. However, you may earn 2 MCPPO recertification credits upon evidence of completion.
