A Message from Governor Patrick
Welcome to the Informed Massachusetts website. As I travel across the Commonwealth, I often talk about my Administration's commitment to open government; to a government that effectively and efficiently keeps our residents informed of how we’re using your resources to deliver real results that bear our generational responsibility.
As part of this commitment, we have launched tools over the past few years to help the public understand how state government works. Those tools include the creation of the Open Checkbook application, publishing the budget in program format, and publishing Secretariat strategic plans.
The Informed Massachusetts website was created to make it easier for you to see for yourself the sources of the state’s revenues, how these funds are spent and the results achieved through public investments.
From this site, you can also get details on your elected officials, locate a law on a topic that is of interest to you, or obtain information on any city or town in Massachusetts, including your own.
I encourage you to explore the site, ask questions and tell me what you think. Asking government to articulate what success looks like and be accountable for results, is something that every citizen should expect.
