It's Cyber Security Month!
The Information Technology Division, in collaboration with the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center, the National Cyber Security Division, and the National Cyber Security Alliance, is marking October as National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The goal for this month is to raise cyber security awareness, promote a safe internet experience, and to empower citizens, businesses, government and schools to improve their cyber security preparedness.
The overall effort is to educate everyday internet users on how to "Protect Yourself Before You Connect Yourself" by taking simple and effective steps. These steps will teach internet users how to safeguard one's computer from the latest online threats, offer ways to respond to potential cyber-crime incidents, and show how each person's cyber security efforts affect securing our nation's critical infrastructure.
