REPRESENTATIVES MICHAEL RODRIGUES of WESTPORT and DAVID TORRISI of NORTH ANDOVER moves that the bill be amended in section 2 by inserting after item 7003-0803 the following item:-

 

“7003-0805  For a pilot program to reduce unemployment insurance fraud; provided that funds appropriated herein shall be expended for, but not limited to, fraud detection and prevention staff, investigative staff, training, and fraud detection software; provided further, that the department of workforce development shall file reports on June 30, 2007 and March 15, 2008 with the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on labor and workforce development which shall include information about the unemployment insurance fraud efforts undertaken with funds appropriated herein and with other resources, and the estimated savings both in detection and prevention from the time of the initiation of this pilot; and provided further, that funds appropriated herein shall be available for expenditure through June 30, 2009 ................ 3,285,000.”
