Mr. Kocot of Northampton moves to amend the bill in section 2, by inserting the following item:

“1599-3235 For providing potable drinking water to residents through the expansion of public water supply distribution systems in the Pequot Ponds area within he town of Southampton and the cities of Westfield and Holyoke and payments to said communities for said pipeline expansion due to the contamination of the Barnes Aquifer, provided further, that the department of environmental protection shall provide an overview of the extent of contamination and estimated cost to provide potable water to all effected residents to the House and Senate committees on ways and means no later than March 1, 2009……                            $1,000,000.
