Mr. O’Day of West Boylston, Ms. Story of Amherst, Ms. Grant of Beverly, Mr. Scibak of South Hadley, Mr. Walsh of Boston, and Ms. L’Italien of Andover move to amend the bill in Section 2, line item 4800-1100, in line 5, by inserting after the words “from item 4800-0015” the following:

“Provided further, the Department of Social Services is precluded from spending any state dollars on Family Networks contacts, so called and all cost savings utilized from the cancellation of such contracts shall be used to hire additional social workers and supervisors including cost such as additional manager, desks, computers, etc; and provided further, that the Department shall issue a report to the House and Senate Ways and Means Committees no later than January 1, 2009 detailing the cost savings and how many new social workers were hired as a result.”
