REPRESENTATIVES GUYER of DALTON and DONELAN of ORANGE, move that the bill be amended in section 2 in line item 7061-9404, in line 63 by inserting after the words, “improve student performance on the MCAS”; the following,

“provided further that $75,000 shall be expended to provide matching grants for Reading Recovery teachers in each of the Towns of Hinsdale, Becket, Cummington, Bernardston, Leyden, and Warwick to provide literacy intervention services for students in danger of failure on the MCAS test;”
