An Act authorizing the department of capital asset management and maintenance to transfer control of a certain parcel of land.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding sections 40F to 40J, inclusive, of chapter 7 of the General Laws, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the commissioner of the division of capital asset management and maintenance shall transfer care, custody and control of the portion of a parcel of state-owned land known as Lot 1 located in the Town of Lexington and  formerly under the care, custody and control of the Middlesex County Hospital to the department of conservation and recreation for natural resources purposes.  The department may enter into an agreement with the town of Lexington or a private non-profit conservation organization for restoring, managing and maintaining the parcel as public open space.
