In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

 An Act to restore TAFDC and food stamp benefits to legal immigrants.

 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


 

 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, persons who are legal permanent residents or non-citizens otherwise permanently residing under color of law and who satisfy other eligibility requirements shall be eligible for state-funded cash assistance provided under chapter 118 of the general laws and, subject to appropriation, for state-funded food stamp benefits.
